About

With safety as the highest priority for Special Aquatic Service (SAS) Water Safety, our mission is to provide an innovative, thorough and concise water rescue training program, focusing on practical quality control!  Established in 1990 in Alaska before relocating to Florida and then North Carolina. SAS Water Safety with EMMU Aerial are a small group of public safety professionals who routinely respond to and mitigate such emergencies. We provide real life rescue scenario training in every class we teach.

As public safety professionals, we are “on the job” experienced emergency water rescue operations, safety and incident command officers as well as public safety instructors who train others in the disciplines of Swiftwater & Flood Rescue, Personal Watercraft Rescue and Drones for Water Search and Rescue based on the NFPA’s accepted fire service standards and practices as well as that of other organizations. Our long list of clients range from public safety students to career fire department employees, law enforcement, ocean lifeguards, military and rescuers as well as state and federal government employees who work in such environments where a water rescue is a possibility.

Water rescue is a “high-risk and low-frequency” emergency, making it statistically 400% more dangerous than any other type technical rescue discipline. SAS Water Safety's driving passion is to give public safety, the military and anyone who works in or around water, the skills and knowledge to make successful rescues and stay out of harm’s way in the event of such an emergency.
